Presentation(s)

Bert (VE2ZAZ): Tower-Mounted 10 GHz System, tricks and ideas.

Old Business

2025 Carp hamfest: Our Club table attracted a lot of attention. We presented ourselves as a technical Club. There were many questions asked about microwave communications. Mike (VA3TEC) showed some AREDN material, and that too attracted significant interest. We also picked up two new members. One suggestion for next year: Install a 10 GHz link along the hockey boards behind our table for a demo. Item closed.

New Business

None were brought up.

Show and tell / Round Table

  • Mike (VA3TEC) set up as a rover station in Grafton, ON (FN04xa) during the September VHF Contest. He enjoyed it a lot. Stations from the South reported that Mike’s signal was strong, and that was despite him using only 10 Watts of RF output.
  • Ted (VE3EDE) and Lawrence (VA3IQ) will install a VPN tunnel to link a 2.5W 2.4 GHz AREDN node, serving the west end.

Ask the Club

No questions were asked.

Adjournment

The Vice President observed that there was no further business. Lawrence (VA3IQ) moved that the meeting be adjourned. Bert (VE2ZAZ) seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:57 pm.
