The meeting was opened by the President, Clayton Smith (VE3IRR) at 19:00 hours.
Clayton (VE3IRR) introduced the minutes of the October meeting as posted on the WCARC website. Moved by the President that the minutes be approved, seconded by Doug (VE3XK). The motion was carried.
Robert (VE3BE) reported 33 paid up members and a bank balance of $257.41 plus the $3,000 term deposit.
Vice President’s Report
The beacons are up and running. All of the information for the test equipment is posted on the website. In January, Doug will give a talk on the club’s new test equipment.
Tonight’s speaker is Dave Conn (VE3KL) and the subject is “Helping Blind Hams with Modern Transceivers and Radio Systems.”
Reports / Project Updates
Doug (VE3XK) reported that all of the beacons are operational. Bert (VE2ZAZ) showed pictures and explained the updates done on the 2m WSPR beacon. The frequency is 144.490460 MHz.
Bert (VE2ZAZ) reported that the link between Clayton and the YMCA is still down.
Announcements / Show & Tell
- Bert (VA2ZAZ) mentioned that NIST is proposing to take WWV off the air.
- Clayton (VE3IRR) talked about the BSides security conference and the SDR challenges he set up.
The President observed that there being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 20:50.
