Opening
The meeting was opened by the President, Clayton Smith (VE3IRR), at 19:03 hours. 2 visitors were in attendance.
Secretary’s Report
The Secretary, Randy (VE3AX), introduced the minutes of the January meeting as posted. Moved by the Secretary (VE3AX) that the minutes be approved; Seconded by Doug (VE3XK). Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report
Before tonight’s meeting there was $717 in the bank and 17 paid up members. 4 members have paid tonight so the balance is now $817 and 21 paid up members.
Vice President’s Report
The speaker next month will be Paul Coverdale VE3ICV and the subject will be VNA’s. The May meeting will be the planning for the June contest. Doug highlighted the rest of the speakers for 2017.

Nil.
President’s Report
Clayton talked about the changes and improvements he has done on the WCARC website.
Old Business
Jeremy (VA3ZTF) asked if any club members were interested in participating to the joint field day. He has offered to act as the liaison with the other clubs.
Reports / Project Updates
Beacons
VHF & UHF beacons are working with no issues. The 2m WSPR beacon at Paul (VE3PLE)’s home is up and running. He is looking at adding more improvements to the beacon. The next step will be adding an SDR receiver. Doug is asking for reception reports.
D-STAR
Nil.
Broadband Hamnet
Rick (VE3CVG) is looking to do a BBHN seminar. Clayton (VE3IRR) is adding a list capability of who connects to the mesh. Members are still looking at trying to extend the mesh towards Orleans. Graham asked what type of traffic was presently seen on the mesh. Also if there was a way to put the present users on a map.

Announcements
- Randy (VE3AX) mentioned the NEWS VHF-UHF conference being held in Connecticut April 21.
- Wayne (VE3CZO) mentioned that this was the last day to reserve the hotel rooms at the reduced price.
- Randy showed the low cost Ukranian 50MHz – 28MHz transverter from eBay.
Speaker
The speaker tonight is Jeremy VA3ZTF and the subject is his 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network experience in Iraq.
