The meeting was opened by VicePresident Andy Hart (VE3NVK) at 19:30 hours.


Secretary's Report:
Secretary Glenn MacDonell (VE3XRA) introduced the minutes of the previous meeting. Moved by VE3XRA-Glenn MacDonell that the previous minutes as published on the web pages be approved. Seconded by VE3BYT-Graham Ide.
Motion approved.


Treasurer's Report:
Treasurer Ken Asmus(VA3KA) reported that as of the end of January, 12 people had renewed their membership and the club had $640.00 on hand. The payment to RAC for insurance had not yet cleared and more renewals are expected.

General Reports:

D-STAR
VA3KA (Ken) reported that the Almonte group has received the complete package of D-STAR repeater equipment, described in earlier meetings. Installation is not yet complete for equipment, requiring antennas on a community owned buildng. There have been occasional interruptions in the internet connection from the Ottawa D-STAR repeater VA3ODG, located in the YMCA downtown, but it is expected that these will be resolved shortly.

Ottawa Municipal Concurrence and Public Consultation Process for Antenna Systems
VE3XRA (Glenn) reported that the proposed process would be considered by two City Council committees around the end of February (Feb. 28 and Mar 1). City staff had described the proposal in general terms at the end of December but the full report would not be available until a week before the meeting. He will report on the committee discussions at the next meeting.

Presentation(s)/Activity:
VE2ZAZ (Bert) described the process he uses for the design and manufacture of printed circuit boards for his projects. He uses DIPTRACE software for establishing device positions and producing layouts for the process he uses for circuit board etching. His presentation is available on the WCARC website and more information on the software he uses can be found at http://www.diptrace.com.
